Week 3. Another day, another cookie recipe. I wanted to pick one that was from someone well known. While I believe that bloggers and influencers often have the best recipes, I want to make sure I get a mix of the “famous” recipes and the secret, most likely tastiest ones.
So I went with one of the most incredibly Google-described woman: when you search her name, she is known as “an American retail businesswoman, writer, television personality, former model, and convicted felon.”
That’s right, today we’re trying out Martha Stewart’s chocolate chip cookie recipe.
These cookies. Are large. And in charge. And…incredible.
They start w/ 2 ½ sticks of butter…a little more than I’m used to in cookies. It gets creamed with a good amount of dark brown sugar and slightly less white sugar for 4 minutes. Then eggs are added, one at a time, followed by a splash of vanilla. Dry ingredients are mixed in…nothing fancy here.
And then. Four. And. A. half. CUPS. Of chocolate chips. Are added.
When I say these babies are LOADED, I am not kidding.
The recommended cookie size is hefty, but I often find a bigger cookie gets a better bake in the end, so I was happy to oblige. The dough was particularly tasty; ample amounts of flavor from the butter and vanilla in the dough complemented the chocolate chips PERFECTLY.
The dough gets baked for about 15 minutes, then left to cool for five…if you can stand to wait that long.

Let’s dig into the ratings.
The look: these were beautiful. Big, raised, golden and chocolatey. 9/10
Crunchy Chew: these are textbook crunchy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. They don’t have a GOOEY center so much, but they are still super soft, and the mass amounts of chocolate chips give a bit of that gooey effect. 9.5/10
Chip to Dough Ratio: this is how I like them. The dough stood out enough on its own that it wasn’t overshadowed, but they were still LOADED with the perfect amount of chocolate chips. 10/10
Overall Taste: These were, in my opinion, some of the best tasting cookies I’ve had. Which is funny, because they don’t have many ingredients that you would think make them stand out. The amount of butter to vanilla to flour is just…perfect. When Chocolate chips are a part of the equation, it’s perfect. 9.8/10
Wow Factor: the mass amount of chocolate chips absolutely counts as a wow factor to me. Sure, it’s no flakey sea salt or fancy flour, but chocolate is a “wow” in itself. 9/10
FINAL SCORE: 9.46/10
The best so far. BY far. Who would’ve thought Martha Stewart’s recipe would come out on top? Then again, she’s Martha Stewart. I’m not that surprised.
CAN she be topped? Only time will tell.
