As we start to wrap up our quarantine experience, we've started to wind down within the hotel as well. We mostly just had a few errands to run, and we wanted to find balance between experiencing the city and preparing to return to school.
We started the day slow (as usual) and eventually decided to take a trip to Target! We walked through Broadway, and got to Target at a relatively calm time. We picked up laundry pods, a few beauty supplies, and beverages for lunch. We then walked to Sweetgreen, a salad bar with the BEST leafy green creations, to pick up some lunch. We took our salad bowls to Bryant Park to enjoy the outdoor ambiance!
We each got the Kale Caesar Salad, Maya getting hers with Quinoa, me getting mine with tofu, and Alex getting hers just plain! The salad comes on a bed of Kale and chopped romaine, topped with cherry tomatoes, parmesan shavings, parmesan CRISPS (for texture), a squeeze of lime, and their signature Caesar dressing. It was tangy, varying in texture, and the tofu made it both satiating and extremely flavorful. Each Sweetgreen bowl also comes with an optional slice of multigrain bread, rounding out the meal. I had a maca berry Kombucha on the side, making it the PERFECT lunch.

Once our bellies were full and ~good vibes~ were acquired, we headed home to do laundry and start packing. While we still have another day before leaving, after 13 days in a hotel, your stuff tends to be....everywhere. It was good to get fresh, clean clothes, and start to consolidate our items.
For dinner, we decided to treat ourselves to MILKSHAKES from Shake Shack. We hadn't yet had the ~staple~ burger chain, and to be honest we had been discussing the need for a shake for many days now. We took the short walk to get there, and each ordered our individual treats. Maya got a black and white milkshake, Alex got cookies & cream, and I decided on a chocolate malt...my favorite:).
The evening was spent catching up with friends, family, receiving NEGATIVE COVID test results (!!), and watching Friends. We're beginning to feel a bit sad about quarantine being nearly over...but also excited to start real life again!
