Quarantine Diaries: Day 3

Day 3 got off to quite a late start, but NO complaints from any of us!
We woke up late, sipped coffee, hung out, and then eventually got ready to walk to ANOTHER park.
Bryant Park is quite close by, so we took a stroll down there to lay out in the grass. On the way, we stopped into Joe & the Juice to grab Avocado Sandwiches: layers of avocado, mozzarella, tomato, and pesto are smashed into crispy, multigrain flatbread. It's convenient, easy to eat, and the perfect accompaniment to a picnic in the park.

We layed around, took a few pics (again), and admired the views of the Empire State Building.

After spending our designated time outside, we headed back to the hotel to cook some dinner!
I took it upon myself to make a brown butter mushroom sauce to go with our bowtie pasta that we had delivered. Mushrooms and shallots were sauteed in butter until it turned deep in color and gave off a nutty aroma. I then added a splash of cream and a sprinkling of parm, and dinner was served!

The rest of the evening was spent watching "How to be Single" and "Definitely, Maybe," all while snacking on popcorn and finishing the leftover chocolate chip cookies.
Our goal with each day of quarantine is to get outside for a few to avoid cabin fever, but to bask in the simplicity that comes with a slow morning and a chatty evening. Another day of good foods, good company, and good vibes:).
