Quarantine Diaries: Day 4

So I'll admit: it was a SLOW morning. But once again, this is quarantine. We have no rules when it comes to a "morning routine," and no obligations that we have to fulfill (other than to keep ourselves and others safe).

So we took our TIME. We hung out, attended meetings regarding housing for this semester, and worked on individual projects, assignments, and presentations.

Our one goal is to get outside at least once a day, and since we hadn't eaten much, we decided a trip to Magnolia Bakery was necessary. We quickly got ready and headed near the Rockefeller Center to pick up some sweet treats!

Magnolia Bakery is known for their signature frosting swirls and flowers on top of their cupcakes, as well as their banana pudding. Alex picked up a few cupcakes, and Maya and I both got the chocolate banana pudding. Copious amounts of banana, Oreo wafers, and chocolate shavings are swirled together with chocolate pudding; it was creamy, decadent, and the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Decadent. Immaculate.

We ate our snacks right across from NBC Studios, with a lovely view of Radio City Music Hall behind us. This was the EMPTIEST I had ever seen the area, as typically it is FLOODED with tourists. It was nice to get to sit out and relax, all while still having ample space.

Snack w/ a view!

As dinner QUICKLY approached, we decided to pick up food from "by CHLOE." They're 100% plant based, and have quickly become a popular chain around the world. We grabbed our food and then headed to the rooftop of our hotel to enjoy dinner outside!

We all got the "Guac Burger," which consists of a quinoa patty, guac, lettuce, corn salsa, onion, tomato, chipotle mayo, and tortilla strips, all on a multigrain bun. It's FULL of flavor and packed with protein, which we all felt we needed. On the side, Maya and Alex got fries, while I got the roasted brussel sprouts. They were coated in this sweet yet spicy glaze; truly the ONLY acceptable way to eat brussels.

We watched the sunset from the roof, recorded a few TikTok's, then headed back to our hotel to shower and unwind.

Brussels...but w/ a view!

Our movie pick of the night was "Home Again," a recent film starring Reese Witherspoon. It was perfectly cheesey and romantic; exactly what we needed to finish off the night.

And that was it for Day 4! Will tomorrow morning be an earlier wake up time? One can only hope...although really, what's the rush to start the day?
